The Importance of Pantones
I am suprised with how many design files we get without pantone colors. Without a pantone to reference there is no guarantee that the colors that print will be what you are expecting. The colors in a design may look one way on your screen and totally different on the printer's screen. Even the lighting in a room can affect this. That is why it is important to have pantones for colors that you want to perfectly match. When you are choosing pantone colors you must use chips. You cannot chose a pantone color from your screen as it can easily display differently. But when a pantone is used in a color profile the printer will recognize it and print the color to closely match the pantone chip.
